    Hello Eveyone,

I new to the forum and i thought this was the best place for trucking advice. My question goes as followed.

This is the Summary of what has happened to me…

"I was involved in an accident with a Sun Tran city bus on November 17th, 2008 at 5:10am, where I was a Dump Truck Driver for Counts Construction, Inc. As I drove down the road to my terminal, the Sun Tran bus came and cut me off to make a wide left turn into a side street. Since there were only three lanes, the bus made an extremely wide turn into my lane where our mirrors collided. The cost of damage to my dump truck was $0 dollars, but the Sun Tran bus was $700.00 for a broken mirror. The officer charged me with ‘careless driving’ and said I was at fault."

How long does it take for “Careless Driving” to clear off your CDL before you can get hired by a company?? And what Companies would hire me right now; coming out of Florida?? What professional and positive advice would you recommend for me to do at this moment??

    Thanks, Jon

Question...Is Sun Tran bus a city busline?

Comment...did the bus collide with you while you were in your lane?

Maybe you should get a attorney for this one and dispute it...

Yeah, Sun Tran is a City Bus-line.

I collided and broke the the "Right Side Mirror" of the Bus as my Truck "Left Side" mirror hit it.

I think careless is different then reckless. Maybe some other guys can shed some light on that one. How many points were you issued and how does your license look overall? You might have some problems with some companies but I don't think you are totally shut out from the industry. I am pretty sure after three years it should drop off. My advice would be to go on the OOIDA website and find a reputable truckers attorney and you should be able to get some good free advice. I see you are from Ocala. Maybe try giving Windy Hill a call. They are a smaller company out of Eustis and there hiring qualifications are a little less strict than others. My cousin worked for them and his driving record was far from perfect. He really loved there too because they don't ride your butt and let you do your job. They run mostly heartland and east coast and their main terminal is in Wisconsin. Good luck neighbor and welcome to the forum!

Thanks so much; for the reply. To be honest with you, im not to sure how many points i was issued.. i have to check my driving report. Overall my license is Clear, I have had minor tickets in the past for small things in my car, such as music and window tints but nothing major. Its been about 2 yrs so far, so i guess i can wait out another year before its clear..., idk im going to still apply to companies though. "Yeah i heard about Windy Hill, thats about 1hr 30mins from where i stay"... Thanks Alot, Chompi for the info. I will keep you updated.
