I liked having these half fenders, especially when the 5th wheel had to be slid back for Canada. Kept the back of the cab from getting beat up. I’d throw a set of 3 railers on the rear axle when I had to chain up.

In the rain, especially at night they make a huge difference, also with keeping the truck clean.
Side benefit is actually slightly improved fuel efficiency. The tires aren't curning the air creating as much turbulence. Most people don't care about this though.
On a working truck, minimizer brand plastic fenders are very durable and inexpensive.
The fiberglass ones are very pretty but less durable. Same with metal.

Another thing to keep in mind is the type of trailer you pull. You may need to get taller pedestals for your 5th wheel to avoid having your trailer get into your fenders if it dips side to side.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think they can look good but they can also be overdone. The ones from Iowa80 won’t hold up but a few years then they’ll start to crack. They make a huge difference in the rain. you can see much better as they keep the road spray down. The biggest draw back for me is they are a PAIN when it comes time to chain up.
I put Fleet Engineers on 1 of my trucks. I used the single axle fenders. They were not to bad to install and they still look good on the truck. Installed them about 8 years ago. I bought them from Ryder truck parts, if I remember right. They were less expensive than Minimizer and are not as flimsy looking.Last edited: Nov 19, 2018

I see them more as a hindrance instead of a benefit on a working truck. Added weight, more crap in the way when you need to do something wheel related and one more thing to have some #### drive into at a truck stop.
