Well my good buddy is wanting to go otr,he is going to school in one week.
There is a couple of companies he wants to work for but here is the thing.
His ex-wife(3 months now) put this guy in the cleaner by putting him in the poor house.
Those companies (web-site) say they may use a credit report ,i get why a little bit.
I am thinking he read this on the big pumpkin site?

The banks want to be bailed out ,the car companies etc, everybody in the real world has been affected by the lack of jobs.
He has no tickets ,decent job background and very trust worthy guy.
I know federal jobs do it because a few years ago i tried and they said my credit was spotty(wtf),but it didn't affect me when i got my job(even though it is local)
Maybe it's a big company thing.

Sorry post is jacked but its 4am:biggrin_25521:

Some companies do use a person's credit report to determine eligibility for hire, but they often use other methods as well.

Having a clean background and driving report, and a good resume will always be more important to most companies, IMO.

please DO NOT call your friend a "good buddy" that is driver lingo for a "homo".......

many companies, NOT JUST TRUCKING use a credit check to determine if a person is a good risk for hire. too many red flags on a person, NO MATTER the reason, and he can remain unemployed for a long, long time.....

is this a good way to check a person that can otherwise be highly QUALIFIED for a job...??? HECK NO.......!!!

but it IS DONE and IT IS LEGAL......

he may have to get an attorney to contact all the credit reporting companies to have them make notations in his report that he was ruined due to a failed marriage, but this is still a problem, as apparently the wife also had control of the monies, credit cards, etc, under "joint accounts".....

best thing for anyone to do...??

    if married, have separates accounts....!!

    no joint or co-signing accounts.
