hey just want to ask how many miles should a new person be driving with a mentor? I did almost al 11 hours on the 4 days with him over 600 miles today. After I am done with the mentor is it better to go teams right away or solo?

Doing 11 hrs is fine. The mentor has control over it but you have control also if you feel like you are being pushed to fast and beyond your comfort or capability. But company's do want to see you drive. My company wants the trainees to drive 70% of all driving while on a mentors truck.

As far as team or solo that depends what you want to do. Some company's require you to do teams for x amount of miles or weeks.
If your not required anything then it's what feel comfortable doing.
You will make more money as a team driver but also deal with some stresses you won't have as solo.
Personally I done both and mentor and I like mentoring better then team but also like solo better then anything.
Team driving is good if you get a good team mate. Sometimes you get lucky right away but it can be like finding a needle in a haystack.
Mentoring is fun cause you can instill what you've learned to the trainee and feel good that you've passed down the torch. Of course if you don't teach em jack then ## off. Lol
Too many bad mentors out there.
Solo you sleep better have more personal space. Do things on your schedule.

Try team for awhile, maybe 6 months. Then drive solo. Having the truck all to your self will be soooooo nice!

The idea being for your trainer/ mentor to access your driving ablity to see whether your ready to go off into the real world of trucking all on your own.
