so I recently bought an end dump. It's a dinasour, a 1985 Raven aluminum. It's in over all good condition for its age, but has given me fits recently with some lighting issues. The thing has an insane amount of lights, probably over to 30 on each side. I'm constantly having to change them out and it sucks. I guess my question is, is there a legal way to eliminate and permanently cover up some of those lights? My old Travis aluminum end dump only had three amber lights on each side and it was awesome. Did some searching and couldn't find anything. Maybe that's a hint that this is a dumb question so forgive me for my ignorance.

I would find out what the DOT requirements are for the area you live in and go from there.

I'd say just pull every light off the trailer that isn't required to be there by the DOT.

And/or replace the remaining ones with LEDs. They are a little more expensive, but well worth it. Much more visible, and #### things never burn out. -
Google fmcsa trailer light standards and it will pop up a diagram for truck and trailers where the reflectors go etc...
