    hi,
I'm looking to go buy a truck from Freightliner dealer and called them. I asked them that i need to get dyno and oil samples. The salesaman said they do it at there dealership so i won't need to take out .

My question is is IF freightliner does it by themseleves you think they might not do it the right way or hide if anything is wrong just to sell the truck becasue i don't know how to read dyno or oil samples, i'll have to rely on mechanic to tell me what they find. One option is i can take the results somewhere else and show the reports. Just need advice what would be the best way.

They may do a good job, but they could be biased since it benefits them for this truck to do good. I would think you would do better to take it to the nearest Detroit shop, or whatever engine shop if it's not a Detroit. If they won't allow this, then find another truck.

The operator of the dyno has a lot of control in how it reads, so I would take it elsewhere myself. They are very easy to read though, so no biggie there.
The oil sample is the same deal, how do you know which truck it came from? You can buy a test kit, or get a sample from it yourself (or watch it being taken) and take it elsewhere too.
