When i get back to NY i will register my truck. just wanted to know if its possible to get ifta before i register my truck or should i just bobtail it home to register right away? Thanx

If you are talking about dealer temp tags then you can't pull anything. The only way that you can pull something for hire is being registered. Well, you may be able to get trip permits but even then most states are looking for registration information.
Hope your company is not telling you this is OK.
BTW, make sure you have liability insurance on it. States look for this with bob tails with temp tags. -
thanx, i think i will bobtail it home to register to avoid any problems. my company set me up with liability and cargo today. Spoke to one of the drivers he said his buddy got a $4000 ticket b/c he was pulling a load with temp tags!

No. IFTA requires registration before they will open the account and issue the decals / permit.
