I was hired by a double bottom dump company a little more than a week ago. But they haven't scheduled me any worked yet. They say I'm scheduled for this Thursday however. I got a call from Mike Lowrie trucking on Tuesday asking me if I'm still interested in tomato hauling I can come take a drive test. Now, I'm not asking which company I should choose because I'm certain I want to go with Lowrie. But is it bad to leave a company I've been with for just a week? This double bottom dump company is first trucking employer since I got my class A.

Take the test drive. Tomatoes dont start until the middle to end of July. Is the Bottom dump company in Dixon as well? Is it Benjamins?
To answer your question, no its not bad to quit. You gotta make money. If a company isn't putting you to work how can they fault you for leaving for a company willing to put you to work? -
Yeah I'm taking the test today. No they're in West Sacramento.
-
If you make it through tomatoes with Lowrie without damaging anything you have a good chance of getting hired on permanently. He's got work year round.
-
That's awesome. if I get on, I'll do my best!

Thanks for the feedback. I start mator freighting next week.
-
Did Lowrie have any step decks sitting in the yard?
-
In this case I don't think so because you have'nt technically started working for them yet. This may not even show up on your DAC.But the right thing to do is call that dump company and tell them you decided not to take the job.

They had a couple sitting there. The yard was pretty empty.

Yeah I actually might start tomatos in two weeks so ill Give my current employer two weeks notice. They haven't even drug test me yet.
