So, I will be starting orientation soon and I haven't found exact answers through my research. I don't mind disclosing personal information about my medications so here it goes.

I am on lisinopril 10 MG for blood pressure and Omeprazole 40 MG for acid reflux. Both are controlled well and I have no issues.

My question....do either of these drugs raise flags for the medical screening? If so what measures should be taken before hand? As in should I have any sort of statements from my primary care physician?

Thank you in advance for any information, I welcome the advice.

Nope. They won't show up, but make sure you disclose the lisinopril for your physical.

You can buy Omeprazole 20mg at any store with an over the counter drug section. So it sure isn't much of a "controlled substance." (Been on it for years.)

But the BP med may be a different story. Just the fact that you NEED a BP med may be a different story, and the particular side effects of that one are less than wonderful.

    • vomiting
    Rare
    • Arm, back, or jaw pain
    • chest discomfort, tightness, or heaviness
    • fast or irregular heartbeat
    • general feeling of discomfort or illness
    • joint pain

I've never had a single side effect from that medication, that being said I'd love to find out something for certain before I make this jump. Thank you very much for your input. I appreciate it.

The BP meds cut you down to a 1 year card ,
they like to keep an eye on you.
No idea about the acid reflux med

Acid reflux doesn't take you to a year but BP does. It's better to disclose it and move on.

    Truelife and 28 Thank this.

Thanks to everyone who's given feedback, I finally got a hold of my PCP and said pretty much the same thing about a 1 year card. He has no problem verifying that the BP meds aren't causing me adverse side effects. BP check today with caffeine in my system at 123/70 pulse of 75

    28 and joseph1135 Thank this.

Careful of taking Acid Reflux meds for too long, I found out that they can hinder your absorption of vitamins.
