Make sure it's put on your out of state license, even though you wont have that for long or you might have to start from scratch. Transferring an endorsement is much easier than getting a new one (especially if you're like me, and a motorcycle is your sole form of transportation. Wouldn't even be able to get to the dmv to get it fixed)

from my experience being from WA and going through Swift's school in Lewiston - Being from WA and going to the Swift school in Lewiston, you do not get a ID Lic. They will take you to Spokane for the CDL road test and you get your lic in WA. Locally for Lewiston you go right across the river to Clarkston's DMV. Your MC endorsement stays as is on your Lic, might want to make sure they put it on when you get your new lic just to be sure but it should be automatic. When your lic expires you will need to pay to keep all of your endorsements, the only one you will need to retest for is the HAZMAT. When you go to a CDL school, you should be tested in your home state. Most schools only deal with certain states that are local I believe. It has been several years since I went through the school there but they were a good place and people when I went through there. Good luck.

On that subject of bikes, it's funny when people here in W. Washington ask me why I ride everyday. It's hard to explain to a non-rider but I basically explain it to them as... "imagine doing what you dream of doing on your day off whether it be golf, baseball, whatever but due to work you have to wait until that day off. I don't wait until my day off, I do it everyday". That usually puts it in perspective.
