I've been looking to get into trucking for about 3 years now. I applied through Roehl and was declined for having a ticket (Following too closely), they said I must wait 1 year for that ticket to fall off. However last year I was pulled over for speeding 20 over the limit. I was pulled over in a very small town, less than 1k people. It was a speed trap in my opinion but that's for another discussion. I went to court to fight the ticket and was told I could attend traffic school and not have the ticket "Sent to the state" and it wouldn't show on my record. So that's what happened. I'm running my MVR report in Kentucky and its showing my record as clean for the last 3 years. The only question is the ticket happened in TN, and I'm unable to look up a MVR report in TN unless i have a TN license.

So I guess my questions are since my record is clean in KY does that mean the ticket isn't showing on my record. This meaning the small town in TN never sent my ticket to state, and TN couldn't share this information to KY?

I've already applied for Roehl, and was approved. I'm heading to training on the 3rd of June. I did not put this ticket on my application because I feel like if I did they wouldn't hire me even if the ticket doesn't show on my record. What's the chance about them finding out about this ticket?

May as well head to Roehl and hope for the best.
It's a gamble, but might be worth the gamble.
If you reveal that ticket now, they won't accept you.
Some of those small Tennessee towns write a lot of tickets as a revenue source and if you pay the ticket, it disappears.
We've had drivers get tickets in Tennessee for speeding through a school zone at 2am on a Saturday morning and the tickets didn't ever show up on MVR report. Those drivers have a Tennessee CDL also.

I received a ticket for driving a CMV in the wrong lane in a construction zone in Tuscaloosa, AL
Wasn't speeding, but the signs kept indicating to change to the other lane. It changed about every 2 football field lengths. I called the traffic court in Tuscaloosa and some woman said I have to appear in court. So, I hung up the phone and called the same number again and a different woman said I can just mail the fine and don't have to appear in court. I mailed the fine and the ticket never did show on my MVR report. I didn't report it to the company either and risk being fired.
Never reveal anything and watch for trick questions during job interviews. Some interviews are real friendly and as if they've known you forever. They get you relaxed, then pop a few trick questions trying to get you to reveal something that's not on your job application. If you fall for it, you will be fired and sent home.

I actually had a registration ticket one year. It was something that was not good in that year and ticketed.

The ticket was paid before the trooper made it to lunch. Since it was a very big deal ticket and the payment made, nothing was ever on the record in my trucking years. When I paid the ticket in the local station it closed the case before the trooper had a chance to do his paperwork on it that day. So there was nothing for the state to prosecute.

It was treated as a contribution to the teddy bear fund or whatever is useful at that time.

I had my CDL in two states the one I live in now and the one in Maryland. If the company pulled the lifetime they would know both states. (My CDL Number was the same in both states, includes the old Class A before 1994.)

Ive been ticketed many time for small stuff like parking or the odd speeding. Paid that day. Nothing on the DMV record. (Parking, weight tickets generally not something to worry about unless you have not paid any of them)

They already ran your mvr so they see what you see. If Tennessee said they wouldn't put on your record if you contribute to the local economy (traffic school) they wouldn't process the ticket that's what they did case closed move on.

Tennessee is one of the few states not in the driver's license pact with other states. That means they don't share information with other states. I had a speeding ticket for 10 mph over and it never showed on my KY driver's license or mvr.
