Ok thanks again for the reply..I will double check and test continuity on my coax and connectors..And its a single coil with 27" shaft..

Ant bracket to trk frame doesnt do anything...Antenna will not see it as that..It will electrically see that as a longer antenna and give a false swr reading...Just unhook that wire and test again to see what the diff is...
Then use short braided straps and connect parts of trk together( the term is called bonding)...
Chances are if you run a cpl braided straps from door side of hinge to cab side of hinge it should help..Many times there are plastic bushings within the door hinge and plastic washers n such prevent a gnd..When you pull a hinge bolt out, clean threads off to cause of possible lock tight..
    Bonding

Get a small pad and keep notes of what you do and the effect, use it as a learning tool

There is no calculation to do it. The amount to be removed is determined by the ground potential of the vehicle. Every installation is going to be different.

Once you introduce a coil into the mix, The math gets really complicated and it's not even worth discussing here. The baseline calculation that you're talking about is only valid without a coil.
Here's a 1/2 wave dipole calculator but it's irrelevant to the topic at hand.
    KWARC Dipole Calculator
