Hi everyone, im new on here and looking for some info from previous NETTS grads. I am planning on taking the Class B course in Noth Andover MA. Has anyone taken this class, any reviews. Im wondering if it has a high success rate or if I should look elsewhere. Also I already have a DOT card, do I have to take a physical? Does NETTS drug test? I want to make sure I have a note from my doc if this is the case so I don't get kicked out before I even start.
anyway thanks in advance,

I went to NETTTS in 1996, my ex-wife in 1997 and my son finished in May of this year (2013). We all went for Class A. My cousin owns a local Liqueur Distributing company and hires Class B drivers pretty often.
Unlike Class A drivers that has an industry standard of formal training from a school like NETTTS, Class B drivers do not have these industry standards.
99% of the drivers my cousin hires have no formal training at all. I only say this because I would hate to see you spend a lot of money getting your Class B when it will not help you get a job.
You can go to Mass. DMV and get a free CDL Manual then study for the test and then pay for the written test and take the test. Once you get the CDL Permit then you go around and ask some companies with Class B trucks if they will let you use their truck for the road test. Normally they will want some money (a lot less than NETTTS) or they might want you to work for them once you get your Class B. That is how most Class B jobs start out. -
if you are going to bother go to school get your A license even if you don't use it
I have recruited all over the country and NETTS from what I saw
was the most professional operation of any I visited -
Thanks for the response everyone, I already have a job lined up, getting the class B for a promotion. Company doesn't have class A trucks.
For the people the attended NETTS, do they drug test as a requirement to joining the school? -
I go to the Netts in Bridgeport, CT for Class A and if you want to go outside field training you have to take a drug test to drive the truck. The teachers there warn you if your not ready don't test till you are ready. Then after you pass your first drug test you are subjected to take a random at any time. Instructors are ok but many really don't like there job and rather go back OTR but are stuck cause they got kids/wifes. Rates on people getting there CDL is high but if you need more time past your grad date they wont just kick you out of the school, they will let you stay. Yell get the CDL, may get it before grad date, your expected grad date, or after.
