Hey everybody I'm new to the forum, been lurking for a while now . I Will be going to millis on Oct.4. And was wondering how it works. I've given my deposit and recieved my packet in the mail. So everything is good to go, but what do I do from here. Do I just show up at the hotel the night before or will the recruiter contact me. Should I call them? I know how busy they are and don't want to hassle them with petty questions. Also, is it really this easy, I mean there's no personal interview or nothing just answer a few questions on the phone, fill out an app., and I'm in? Thanks in advance.
question about starting at millis

Hey, jus curious, how is your driving record as far as tickets...i applied there and got turned down because i had sum old tickets on my driving record that had to be expunged...i expunged them off my record now im waiting for 1speeding ticket to be taken off.....was your record sqeuaky clean??
-
To be honest with you I'm not sure, I need to pull my record. Last I checked, about a year ago, I had one ticket for too fast for conditions. I did ask all three recruiters I talked too if they had pulled my record and that everything was good to go and they all three said that's the first thing they do after the phone interview. I have, however, read on here that they don't go real deep into your record until orientation which is after your training. It seems backwards to me, but supposedly that's how they do it. That's why I'm going to pull it myself and then contact the recruiter if thers anything on it. Hopefully someone else will chime in for us.

Ooo okay....i jus re-applied today. I should hear sumthing tuesday. I got 4tickets off my record. When i 1st applied i put that i had zero tickets cause i didnt know what was on there...they said i was accepted then i sent my 100 dollars in, they ran my record & then said i couldnt come because i had too many tickets...i was supposed to get the 100 bucks back but they never sent it back to me, so i be lettin them know that if they accept me & they gonna have to use that 100 i sent them already to hold my spot in class......how long did it take the recruiter to contact u

I'm with you on that, no way id send the 100 bucks twice, i mean your going to go a couple of weeks without a check so that 100 bucks goes a long ways. As far as the recruiter goes when I filled out my app. They called me the next day. After that I did all the calling. I called everyday to.check the status of my app. They get a lot every day so being persistent probally helps. They were never anything but nice and allways answered any questions I had, I just usually had to call them. I wish you luck my friend!

Had the same question as you when I went to Cartersville for training. Yes - when you get to the hotel they will have your info and you just check in. If there is an issue they know Millis and will handle it for you I am sure.
It should be that easy provided you were honest on your app and background and DMV. You'll get all you need the first day of training. I didn see where you posted which location you're going too but they all are about the same related to information as far as I can tell.
When I started things were slower it appears - but they never hesitated to answer any questions I had when I called. So call if you want too.
Let me know if you have anymore - I'll try to help if I can.cbrjenkins Thanks this. -
Thank you Baritone, I will be attending the Cartersville location. I went ahead and pulled my driving record then gave my recruiter a call. She said that, yes, they do pull your record before they ever accept you into the driving school, but for anyone reading this I would pull your record anyway just to be sure. Also, she said that you just show up the night before your scheduled and the hotel will have all of your information. Baritone, thank you for all of your posts in the Millis section, you have been a huge inspiration for me, as well as others im sure, to persue Millis for a career.

Happy to help. Let me know or others if there are any questions along the way. I did the training in Cartersville also. You'll really like Greg (the instructor). Knows his stuff for sure and easy to get along with.
Good luck and welcome aboard!loghard Thanks this. -
