ok ill sum this up....im still a rookie dont even have a CDL yet only 20, but i go out and yard jockey all the time, i have for a while now

well one time a long time ago i was backing a 53 footer very tight space and had to cut it really sharp to avoid blind siding, and i ended up having to back very sharp...i was backing up and had to keep it very sharp and yard tractors dont have farings.....i was going very slow, and finally i got to the point where the trailer wouldnt cut any sharper it would just drag

what exactly causes this? i never told anybody about it because i thought i might of tore something up

it was cut pretty #### sharp, our yard is very tight

keep in mind im a rookie and was even more green when it happened and even though i am pretty good in a jockey truck now i honestly have never really examined a 5th wheel

so is it something set in place in the 5th wheel to keep you from cutting it all the way and the side of the trailer hitting the side of the tractor?

It's not supposed to catch unless your yard truck has something on there to keep it from turning to sharp, which I wouldn't understand?

If you just had a fifthwheel mounted on a kingpin you should be able to just spin it in circles.
