Might want to listen to Jim Johnston on the Land Line Now App. He tells it like it is with OOIDA'S Law Suit.

I use the ELD 50, 150 dollars and then 15 dollars a month, I was one of those holding off but I have 2 drivers and a money hungry dispatch so I keep them from going over hours and reducing the risk of accident..... me personally I just bought a 1995 freightliner for 4800 dollars to hell with elogs for me.

never get anything done on ELD's.......

The only time an ELD is practical is in a linehaul operation..Or a regular route (Same start/finish point Everyday...Or an hourly paid salary.

And you know this, how? I have been using Elog for 4.5 years. Started using it at my choice to see if all that apocalyptic cries of going broke using one was true. Well, I am still using one and doing fine. Not on a regular route, line haul, dedicated, whatever deal. I do irregular route, but I do keep my operation somewhat regional. More profitable than running all over the U.S., at least for me, even on paper.

Must be doing ok. My net last year was almost $80K. And that was with taking every weekend and holiday off, and taking off 4 weeks on top of that. Decided I needed to restructure somewhat to reduce my tax burden.

I don't think they will be as big a deal as previously thought. There are only a few scenarios I would like to know how they want me to do it. The whole running out of hours at a customer then kicked off property is the big one for me. Truck stop is 10 miles away in another town. Driving back to the start point would make no sense just to start the log.
