I forgot about a ticket I got a couple years ago. It was for expired inspection sticker. I dont know if this goes against you applying to schools and companies. I cant even remember exactly when I got it. Seems like it was between nov '07 & feb '08. Anyone have an idea if it would go against me? I have already applied to a school and they are looking for a pre hire now.

it shouldn't go against you. however, you really SHOULD inquire at your local DMV and find out how much it's going to cost you, then pay for it. i'm hoping they didn't suspend your vehicle plates...!!! you need to check that, because where I LIVE, this is exactly what they do...!!

Run your own DMV record...not just the three-year one either. I don't know what the real name for it is, but you can get a comprehensive record for motor carriers. That's the one you want. It's always good to know what's being said about you. And if it appears you lied on an application (not saying you did) it looks worse than putting down the whole sordid truth.

    Best of luck.

This is the official website for Tennessee: http://www.tn.gov/safety/DLFAQS/dlquestion8.htm

I did see a few commercial websites offering free and paid instant checks, but I don't know how reputable they are.

You can actually obtain your record from your insurance company if you wish. Maybe give them a call first and see what they say?

Oooh noooo. I did pay it back then, whenever that was. I just cant really remember when and i dont know if this would go against me.

I know what you mean Injun. I know I didnt lie, just forgot. I dont know how THEY will look at it tho.

Ill have to look and see if I can find that for the state of VA where I lived at the time.. And I hadnt thought about my INS Co.

Thank you all for your answers....:biggrin_25514:

well then forgedaboudit.......it WAS an inspection sticker, NOT for speeding, going thru a stop sign, red light.......

    an inspection sticker is "pfftt"........

you would ONLY WORRY, if you DIDN'T pay for it (and got a new sticker) and they cancelled your plates.........

geez....... you got me all worked up for nothing now........[IMG]

Sorry! I assumed Tennessee because it's in your profile.

    Here's Virginia: http://www.dmv.state.va.us/webdoc/citizen/records/drive_record.asp

A little advice... whether it's a parking ticket, a moving violation, an expired inspection or a dirty truck, it's always best to resolve old issues, because they never just "go away" and sometimes, have the uncanny tendency to pop up and bite ya on the *** at the least opportune time. So, if you think you have some unfinished business with the DMV or DOT, peace of mind dictates to resolve whatever the issue and leave it behind you. Otherwise, it may catch up with you... sooner or later!

    (end 2 cents lol)
