when i was delivering john deere tractors and other farm equipment, i lost 5kg (dunno what that is in pounds or whatever) in a couple of months and toned up real nicely. i'm only 5'2", so was forever climbing up and down to get the chains secured. and then there was climbing up onto the tractor to secure the windscreen protector and stuff. anything i bought to eat on the road was checked for fat content.
you could get something like this http://www.factoryfast.com.au/p/12p...ds-tubes-gym-set/?utm_campaign=sports-fitness and a skipping rope. takes up very little space and you could work out any where at all. (obviously you'd get something from over there. the link is purely for illustrative purposes)

I used to work out daily and had the hard six pack but it is very hard to stay in shape on the road which is why almost all truckers are obese. I never noticed this before I became a trucker but every YMCA is usually in a tight high traffic community such as a college, apartment complex, or downtown so trying to get a truck there is impossible. If they just so happen not to be in such places then their lot is designed for cars. I guess they don't want their gyms filled with fat truckers. The only time I get to go to the gym is during my hometime. I don't like exercising out on the road unless I can shower right afterwards. But usually after driving for 11 hours and unwinding, I don't want to exercise. Oh I do have some dumbells that I curl often but to me exercise is getting the full workout plus good cardio. I have resistance tubes but I never use them. I am afraid one day they will break and slap the hell out of my face leaving a permanent scar. You have to bring your own food if you want to eat healthy since a lot of times when you are out in the middle of nowhere the only thing available is McDonalds and Dennys.

Nothing you do will ever do any good in the long run.
The trucking industry is an unpredictable animal. Your intentions might be good---but circumstances will dictate your schedule NOT will power.
You will most likely be forced to choose 3 of the following 4 nightly: Shower, Eating, Sleep, or Exercise. Now; which one of the four will you give up each night? -
I have the same concern. I recently lost 110 lbs and I don't want to find it OTR but I'm looking to start this new career anyhow.
Starting to think of healthy foods that don't spoil easily. Apples, bannanas and oranges are good examples. Also dried fruit. Oatmeal is healthy, easy to store and make (adding just the right spices makes it tasty too).
These days I exercise 6 days a week but don't think that'll work on the road. Not sure how far baby wipes will go to eliminate the odors that come with good workout. It sounds like a daily shower might not be an option while OTR.
Youtube has a few healthy trucker videos you might find useful. -
