You're wasted on TTR, you need a YouTube channel. If you hurry you can get 30 episodes in the can before you get your CDL.

I think you really need to follow this advice or stop listening to unhappy people! The demands of this job are what they are. You can roll with the flow or go flip burgers at Joe's Diner and cathouse! Your call!

    It's a job, not a hobby.
You can Google job if you don't know what that is, there's a good explanation there.

How does one remain employed as a trucker, much less a trainer, driving only five hours a day and being several days late to appointments?

NOT asking for a friend. :p

The 14 hour day get old. Once you drive 11 hours you can't do much more work. Part of the problem is you still have loading and unloading working time. Plus fueling and drop and hook loads. If you drive cross country or have average trip of 1800+ miles. You load one day, then just drive 3 or 4 days. The days you only drive you don't have to work 14 hours because your 11 hour driving limit will come first.

If you drive regional or short runs say 200-700 mile trips. You spend more time loading and unloading or drop and hooks. Then they still expected the driver to drive 350-400+ miles. That's the problem because it can take 1 hour or more for drop and hook. If you do a live load then two drop and hooks. You can easily spend 5 hours sitting not driving. To get the miles for the day you need to work 14 hour days.

One solution to help stop the trucking company from running driver so hard or more then 70 hours a week. You log all the working time. Don't stop ELD clock when loading and unloading.

LOL at least you can admit that it's you who is interested in the opportunity. My guess is they had enough open window drop and hook accounts that he could still fill a slot, or at least half a slot. Paying mileage, he wasnt costing them much. And they were so hard up for trainers that they started asking me to to it when I was only 3 months in.

I don't know about the trolling part. If this person is not trolling they are most likely headed home from a school or an Orientation. This is why I said what I said. The demands of this business are what they are!

If he's not a troll he's in for quite an education. Time and reality will either change him or make him look for another career.
Either way, he's had some good advice here.
