I everyone! I have a quick question before I leave for CDL school on Sept. 9th. I will be working for USA Truck. I have one concern though. I had a misdemeanor charge from 16 years ago. Will this keep me from getting hired? No other charges of any kind, and driving record is clean of anything for the past 7 years. Thanks to any for advice.

I dont think it will keep you from getting hired its been that long ago the biggest thing usa looks for stuff like theft/rape /murder/dui/and anything that may keep you from a passport thats what tamicka said she is a rec for usa AND TICKETS
-
No nothing like that. No trouble in the past 16 years, and last ticket was a seat-belt ticket in 2005

As long as you listed it on your Application, it shouldn't be an issue.
Some people lie and wonder why when they get sent home.
Some companies will wait until you are in orientation to do their checks though.flee1 Thanks this. -
The application never asked about that. Asked if I had ever been arrested for driving under the influence of any alcohol or drugs, which is no. But never asked about misdemeanor charges. I have look at it many times through my driver solutions account.
Sorry I did mess up. It did ask if I had any misdemeanor charges in the past 3 years. Which is no. But never asked if I had ever had a misdemeanor charge.Last edited: Aug 19, 2013

Thank ya'll for your replies. Since I did answer the questions truthfully on my app. I should not have a problem. Can't wait, 20 days and I am out to schooling, then OTR training.

I worked at usa for many years and was happy they are the better of the medium comp i think you will be happy there as long as you do whats expected with in reason

I have no problem working, that's for sure. Every employer has always loved my work ethics. I have talked to a lot of USA truck drivers. The only ones who seemed to complain about them are the same ones others knew to complain all the time, refuse loads, and have attitudes.

I have turned down loads and had a lazy dispatcher when i first started but after 3 months got a diff fleet and had no problems and thats with all comp drivers complain no miles not enough home time trucks broke down put youre time in and upgrade to a better truck

Will do, every newbie has to sacrifice some.
