History,
25(+-) years ago I used to drive commercial trucks.
When I was taking my driving test(back then), the examiner so my license said "corrective lenses" and asked if I was waring contact.
I told him yes and he asked if I had an extra pair of glasses... he stated that it was a federal requirement.
My question is, is it a requirement to have a pair of glasses if you ware contacts or is it a requirement if you ware corrective lenses to have an extra pair?
Or was that over paid, underworked pompas ##### on a power trip and blowing smoke up my tail pipe?

If you have a restriction, you have to abide by it. If you lose your corrective eye-wear you cannot legally drive a vehicle until you have
the proper eye-wear that you need to legally drive once again. -
I have the CL restriction as well and the previous poster is correct. Without a spare pair, I would be out of service if the primary pair breaks. I kept the 2nd pair set up with sunglass clip ons for rapid change.

Don't get me wrong, I agree with the logic, I do carry a pair of glasses with me.
I am just wondering if it is required by law to have extra pairs. -
It isn't required by law to have an extra pair...but if you are wearing contacts, and one falls out in the vehicle, and you cannot save it...you would have to stop driving.
