I am transitioning to a career in truck driving after 18+ years of teaching at a university.
So, in the coming months I'm sure I will have plenty of questions for you guys and gals.
And, by the way, thanks very much to all of you active users of this forum from whom I have already learned a great deal.
After readings loads of posts and reviews of trucking companies, I will probably apply at Swift, among other places. With all of the criticism leveled at them, I still believe they offer a new 50 year-old driver such as myself a good place to train and gain experience (I will already have my CDL from a private school when I apply, so I won't be going through their driver training program).
Here is my question: how much will Swift require me to contribute monthly for medical, dental, and vision if I have dependents (wife + two daughters)? I'm hoping someone will be willing to share actual dollar figures, but I understand if people prefer not to. Thanks!
Question: Employee benefits at Swift

With your screen name, you'd probably get a kick out of a new children's show aimed at toddlers... "Donkey Hodie!"

This is the same company as I posted in Post #2
I think the school is in Portland. You would attend cdl school in Portland, then transfer back to Yakima after graduation. Probably start a new class every couple of weeks.
