I'm starting c1 in ft wayne on the 16th. Its about a 400 mile ride from my place and I'm leaving my vehicle at home and taking my bike. I was wondering what the area was like around the lodging. Reason being I am not comfortable leaving my bike outside in an area where it may get vandalized or stolen. If worse comes to worse I have brought a tarp with me before and parked my bike in my room overnight before when staying at a hotel. Obviously I always ask for a first floor room.
question for anyone that attended c1in ft wayne

They're all first floor rooms, and you won't have a choice. You'll get to room with a total stranger for two weeks or so. THe area where the motel is (or was) is ok, off the highway - you should be okay. I assume you meant bike as in motorcycle?

I just left the great hallmark Inn that you will be staying at in Fort Wayne. It is a 2 story hotel but i bet you can request a room on the first floor unless they have nothing available for students on the first floor. There is a big walkway over the sidewalk outside all the first floor rooms so you should be ok there and not have to worry about your bike getting to wet.

I went to C1 in Fort Wayne. I would guess if you just asked, you could park your bike up by the front door, in sight of the front desk. You could then ride your bike to the school. One piece of advice...if you go to Ft Wayne and are from out of state, you will have to forfeit your license in your home state, and re apply for a IN license, and an IN permit. There was one guy in my class who forgot to tell them when he got his new license and LOST his bike endorsement. That would suck if you only had your bike and had to deal with that stuck in Ft Wayne.
Good Luck.

Thanks for the info. I'm Not under the basic plan and will be getting a single occupancy room. And yeah by bike I meant my motorcycle. The endorsement isn't on my license yet still a separate paper but I'll make sure to tell them I need the bike permit test if I need to. I know I need to surrender my pa license but whatever I can deal with it when the time comes. My bike is an enduro and routinely covered in mud so a little rain wont hurt it. But parking it under something is a plus.
10 days and counting. Can't wait.
