Question for anyone using "people net " elogs

For the 30 minute break, just go "off-duty" or "sleeper birth" for 31 minutes.. 31 to ensure you have done 30,,,elogs can fool ya...

For the 10 hour break, do the same.... and yes, you have to wait for the actual time to expire. You can't just set the elogs to "off-duty" and drive. It will go to the drive line if you move over a mile.

 

I have people net and I just go off duty for 30 minutes when I take my break.

As far as the 10 hour reset either go to sleeper or off duty for 10 hours and then you have your reset.

 

yep,,,doesn't matter when you start a 10 hour break, once it is reached, you restart your 14

 

If you have been off duty for 8 hours and you want to go ahead and get your ten hours off then yes stay off duty for 2 more hours and you will have a full 10 hour break. If you go on duty it will start all over from the beginning so make sure that you can stay at the place you are loading or unloading. You can split the 10 hours between sleeper and off duty.

Okay, so lets say you have used only 8 hours of your 14 and decide to call it a day. You put yourself in the sleeper or "off-duty", if you at home or whatever. Once the clock reaches 10 hours, your 14 will restart from that point or any point after that, that you decide to start using it. In other words, you will be able to work, once the 10 hours is reached but, you don't have to at that point. Now, if you start working before the 10 hours is reached, you are still working on your original 14,,,,follow?

 

I wasn't even going to try to explain the split,,,until he is comfortable with just the 10 and 30 break...lol

 

Another little hint with e-logs.... When your 30 is up manually go to on-duty or drive. That way the system will not auto adjust incorrectly and cause you to take a 29 minute break.
