My wife is going to school soon to get her CDL at a well known CDL college. We are going to use this as a way to work towards retirement since all the kids are grown and gone. We don't want to team drive because we also don't want to be on the road more than the max hours per day than one driver is allowed so we can still enjoy some time together. So far we have picked TransAm because they seemed to be a good company to start with for a number of reasons. One of them though is that my wife was treated very well and had all of our questions answered in detail by the recruiter we talked to, and more! They stand out as the best all around company so far! All the other companies that we talked to at this point had some major issues such as recruiters that are to the point of rude or bashed other companies, didn't seem really interested or just plained said things that were different than what is completly true, especially the really big companies, along with other issues like benefits, rider program, training, cents per mile etc... So now we are asking the question to the drivers that work for them. Taking the Good and the Bad, how are they to drive for??? I have posted a question before and had drivers from other companies say what they think about the company they work for which is fine but, we would like to hear from current drivers that are driving right now, for TransAm. Any help is appreciated! We want the best possible start that we can get.
