I don't think the company can legally deny you, but you and the company will have to work together to get it done

You can call Prime's main number and have them transfer you to Cardinal Health as they do the physicals but they have an office in the terminal. Prime also does all the CDL testing and at times a State Trooper may be onsite to audit the testers.

Don't freak, just talk to them. They really shouldn't have set you up to head out there without some definitive answers but that's a recruiter for ya. Definitely let us know what happens and good luck again.

Why didn't you just go to Earl Henderson Trucking in Caseyville? They're contracted to haul Prime trailers and haul Prime freight.
This way you get a Illinios CDL right out of school. If you go to Prime in Missouri, you have to return to Illinois and switch a Missouri CDL to Illinois CDL. The Illinois DMV loves to flunk people trying to switch their CDL from another state.

That could be an option also because I believe when transferring a CDL to Illiniois they make you take the full test again. With Indiana I just had to do a written test and when I moved to Kentucky I just had to pay them like $35.

When I was a car hauler I knew a driver, for another company, that was born with his left arm missing from the elbow down. He could climb around on that 10 car stinger and chain cars and trucks down as good as most. If he could haul cars like that you should be able to drive and swing doors. I'm sure you are familiar with the ADA provision for reasonable accommodation. If not YOU should be. Don't think Prime is a good place for anyone, but I'm just an old spoiled Teamster driver.

Good luck I hope it works for you.

The last prime student I talked to from Illinois didn't get a missouri license he went back to primes terminal in missouri for an evaluation and then his trainer took him to Illinois to test for his cdl , not sure if that's the norm with prime.. as far as your hands go if you can hold a steering wheel and grab a shifter I don't see you needing any sort of medical waivers , I don't believe there is a federal regulations that says 10 fingers are required to drive

I provided the fmcsa link says anyone with missing limbs including missing fingers needs a spe. He should be able to pass, but it is required by fmcsa

I don't think it'll be a problem! I'd give ya a shot. Less fingers equals less weight in the truck equals more freight that can be hauled! Best of luck to ya driver!
