On my 2011 ProStar,2010 Cummins ISX.
Warn engine light is on so took it to the shop. They forced a Regen on it but it will not let them clear the code.
The code is for a sensor not reading anything on the DPF and not telling the truck when to do a filter burn off.
With the engine light on my RPMs are reduced to 1800 instead of 2150 as the truck was set up with.

Question,Can the sensors on the DPF be cleaned?
They ordered a new sensor but it will be next week before it comes in and i got a run to do Sunday.
Just wondering if i could remove the sensor and clean it and would it make any difference?

    Thanks!

The only thing that can be cleaned is the DPF differential pressure tubes and that sensor. All you can really do is blow them out. Making sure the pressure sensing tubes are clear and not plugged up is pretty important. I could answer your question better if you can tell me the actual code it is logging. Some codes get logged due to faulty sensors and some get logged due to faulty operating conditions. As far as your run, I certainly can't recommend it or say if it will make it or not. The engines and the programming is not very forgiving if you have a malfunctioning aftertreatment system. Power reducing is one of first things the ECM does to protect the engine. They will continue to derate until you pretty much only have idle. Try to give me the code and I will look into it!

    Thanks HeavyD,
I forgot to write the code down, the shop has it.
I will call and see if they have it.

The forced Regen seemed to help a little but have not pulled another load with it yet.
I remember Insight saying something about not reading the catalyst.
I know it has 3 sensors that look about the same on tier 1,2 and 3.

I think this shop is just guessing.......

There are 3 temperature sensors and one pressure differential sensor, 4 in total.

    Thanks,
Still waiting but they never called me back with the code.

Looks like i will be hitting a Cummins dealer next week on the road.
The local shop is going to replace one of the sensors Monday but i have a feeling that is not going to fix it.
The mechanic at the local shop has Insight but they act like they don't know how to use it.
