What are some yearly salaries of first year truckers that have started in the last 1 to 3 years? Most jobs say average is 35,000 to 40,000 the first year but im curious of actual salaries.
Question for new to 3 year truckers.

With in the last 3 years that will vary. 30-40 is avg. Maverick used to avg 52.5 the first year, but with freight slowing I do not know what their avg is now. With most co's depending on you, the co and your dispatcher I would say avg 35 first year.

24k would be more realistic. I'm not saying thats all you'll make but it's better to estimate low and be like, hey, wow, look at all that extra money i made, than to be pissy all the time because you arent making as much as you expected. Companies will lie. 35k is possible in your first year, dpeending on the company.
The company i started with, CRST, i made 100 bux a week. Yeah, really. There were other drivers making ends meet but most werent doing real great to be honest.
I work for werner now and i'm making 8 times that. I do the job the exact same way i did at crst. There's drivers claiming to be being screwed horribly by this company too, I dont know whats up with that. but MOST of them will be whining about something inane. Truckers complain whether they have something valid to complain about or not. -

I totally agree with Phroziac, 24k to maybe 28K. I am basing this figure on the average trucker going to work for one of the OTR training companies (which are usually referred to as the bottom feeders). A newbee tends to get stuck with the shorter runs, and a lot of time sitting at docks (unpaid) waiting to load/unload. A newbee usually has a crappier truck which equates to sitting around for free wainting for it to get fixed. They also are the ones that are graced with repowering loads that the training trucks have already ran most of the good miles.
