Question for Regional Drivers in the Central Texas area ONLY

Hi there,
I am very interested in possibly becoming an o/o some day for regional Texas work (not long haul). I understand that most recommend working for a company first. But before I commit to trucking school I would like to see if this field of endeavor is to my liking. I know this is a strange request but I don't know what else to do!
If you (or anyone you know) wouldn't mind taking me in your truck and let me ride around for a day or even a half day I would really appreciate it. I am a nice, considerate laid-back guy and I won't talk your ear off. Will be happy to buy you lunch or a case of beer or whatever. Even if I don't think its something I'd like or could handle, I have always wanted to drive up in a semi..
