I have been driving on alot of two lane highways lately and was wondering why it seems that cars can only go about 70kph (100 zone) on the flat double solid line and manage to get up to 140kph on the hills where the passing lane's are???????????????? Why is this? I'm not only complaining as a truck driver I find the same problem in my car. Please someone explain this to me before I lose my mind and start running over people thanks.

Probably because the drivers are jerks. I've dealt with that both in a rig and in my car too. I guess they don't want someone passing them.

I experience it, too... and I don't know why they do it. Maybe it's that they don't realize how slow they are going until people start passing them? Or maybe they see a hill ahead and feel the need to put a little more weight on the accelerator pedal to be sure they "make it" up the hill?

For the most part, I think people who do this just aren't paying attention to their driving... <sigh>

I agree with this. I don't think a lot of that is deliberate most of the time.

The other thing is cruise control. Mine will accelerate more as it senses that I am going up a hill and if I was going slower and someone starts to pass me and we are going up a hill, it gives the impression that I am speeding up, because I am lol. I have learned to take it off to let the person pass me and then put it back on. Or just leave it off because it gets to be a pain.

At least you have the decency to kick it off if need be. Most people don't. That really drives me nuts!

I think the car is the one place many people feel they can force their control over others. Many have lives that are out of their control (jobs etc.) but they get in the vehicle and suddenly they can control how fast another goes by squatting in that left lane.

    road rage.

just because the speed limit is say 70 DOES NOT MEAN YOU HAVE TO DRIVE THAT FAST!!!!!! good thing the limit isn't 140 huh! dosen't hurt a thing to drive a little slower. people driveat he speed their comfortable at. some faster, some slower. live with it.
