    Just curious, Bayou-

With 3 years experience under your belt, why are you still with Progressive?

I pay $4200 a year through Harco, $1 Mil Liability and $100K broadform cargo, unlimited radius. You might want to check out what a real commercial insurance agent can do for you.

Does Progressive allow you to travel out of radius? When I was with them they allowed you to travel out of radius for a total of 35 days broken up any way you wanted. You could also buy extra weeks.

10% of the time your allowed to exceed your radius.
They are trialing some unlimited in the USA (like Georgia right now) and if it goes well, they might offer unlimited in 2011.

Oh ok. I don't think it's something they really advertise but I did really well with that doing all 48 states no problem. I also bought extra weeks.

If anyone is reading this here's how you do it.

Try to plan your trip so that your on the edge of your radius then call and say your going out of radius. Make sure that is on the beginning of a new day so you get a full day of driving.

As soon as you get back into your radius call and tell them.

Keep track of your days. It was 5 weeks or 35 days when I was with them.

And watch out, they have an auditor that keeps track of you non stop!!!

So, if your a newbie you can do VERY VERY well with this program going out of radius and being like a real trucker!!! lol

Well 5 weeks or 35 days is about 10% of the year.
Progressive gives you 10% off the bat.

..unless I missed your point? :biggrin_25520:

Ok...but 35 days is still about 10% of the time based on 365 days a year.

I was thinking you offered a hint here on how to 'get around' their 10% limit but I'm not seeing any.....or just not following the idea here...

    :biggrin_25521:

..Running 35 days a year outside the 500 mile radius is 10% of the time.
    Isnt it?

I was reading the info that they post on the site for their insurance, and yeah if you cover the whole shootn match they say 500 miles, but if you lease to someone and they cover they cargo liability and progressive gives you the non-truckn liability there is no radius minimum. They gave me a good price quote on my old truck, but again that was for bobtail insurance only. I know that my X employer was through Northland group we hauled cattle he paid around 700 month for 2 trucks and trailers. That was for the whole deal totally covered!

    Thanks,

    stiffride...
