You have to use the kit, the lights run on different voltages. And no.. once installed they work like regular headlights controlled by the switch.

    JerryD13 Thanks this.

First.. it helps to tell the year and if the truck already has factory LED's installed.

Second.. WTF is $800 for??? New factory LED assemblies?

Third.. If the truck has regular halogen bulbs, then yes, you can retrofit although you may have to install an anti-flicker box. Look it up online please.

    HOWEVER......

.... if you install LED replacements for regular halogen bulbs its critical you choose a good quality LED, RESEARCH!!!! If the LED positioning isn't correct it messes up the beam pattern. You'll have crap visibility and everyone else will be blinded. If that happens I will hunt you down with my LED projector beam setup and intentionally aim them to burn holes in your retina. :)

I put Speaker brand lights in my last truck, but had to use load resistors to stop the lights from flickering. But they run extremely hot when wired as recommended. Instead of putting one on each light in parallel, I put two in series with each other, then in parallel with the output of only one headlight relay. This put on enough of a load to eliminate flicker and the resistors ran cool.

You can use the LED kits for H11 just make sure you check up on reviews i have these in all my trucks and my drivers seem to love them, I will say this though if your headlight glass is messed up no matter what you put inside nothing will work you are better off buyin new headlights and then switching to led bulbs the only down side to led lights that i have seen is that they bulb runs cooler and come winter time there seems to be snow of ice buildup on headlight which can be a pain.

If you try the 10,000 LM ones you'll like the light level much better. Keep them aimed down and they're pretty amazing.
