Garage found this....unit wouldn't regen because the parameters inside the ECM have been changed. This unit is not equipped with an inhibit switch but somehow that feature was turned on in the ECM. Ok, how did that happen? The only thing I could think of was a incorrect software update. Thoughts Heavy D
Question on ECM parameter change

If this is a MaxxForce engine, they are all programmed by factory with this feature. Unless there is a switch in the dash for regen inhibit, there should be no effect on the engine, nore will it inhibit the engine from reneging without a dash switch input. When there is a dash switch that has been enabled for a length of time, there is usually a fault code in the ECM to let you know it has been active. So i do not believe this is your problem.
Do you have the last 8 of the VIN? -

yes it's a maxxforce. No, they claim that the unit would not regen because of the parameters were changed in the ECM. We don't have dash switches on our units. They changed the parameter and found the problem, AFI not putting out enough fuel. My question is how did the parameters get changed on the ECM? I only have the last 6 numbers of the VIn. 144832 I see about getting the rest. thanks...I'm not sure if it's BJ144832 all of our other units are BJ but they also all start will 4.

I'd have to look at a list of Parameters at work while connected to a truck. The list I have here is just basic regular stuff. I do know there are a couple that will prevent a regen if you are using cruise control or PTO mode. We have had some that we have programmed out the inhibit feature with no issues. I do not believe that should ever cause a no regen problem. As for how it happened, your guess is as good as mine.
demonduck Thanks this. -
