I'm a Georgia native, and am looking to get into the industry. Millis seems nice because of the home time, location and the training from what I've read on this forum is top notch. What I can't seem to find is, how many miles do you turn in the average week, do you get paid weekly, do you really go into a region that is local to your living and how is dispatch? I'm wanting to make sure I do this the right way so it doesn't give me a sour taste on the industry. Also, how far is the hotel from the training yard at the Georgia school?

That's an awesome post. I have been anxious about everything I have read and been told, trying to read between the lines sort of, but I keep seeing posts like this and every time I read it, it reconfirms what my guts keeps telling me, I made the right choice.
Thank you! -
The hotel for the Georgia school is one exit south of the terminal on I75. Holiday Inn is really nice. Buffet style breakfast is included and the food at the restaurant isn't bad either. The bartenders are friendly and they have happy hour from 5-7 every night. There are also alot of other restaurants and places like Wal-mart and Kroger nearby.

I live an hour NE of Cartersvill, kind of. Will they let me drive my personal car from home or do they prefer I stay in motel/hotel? What time in the morning does orientation start. And with a few years of experience how long does it last for experienced drivers?

U can drive a personal car... exp driver orientation is 3 days if I remember right
