The swamp cooler is a hybrid... uses ice and water... should work better than a water-only system.

Back when I started driving a used to see an old guy (now I'M the old guy) with a B-73 that had a home-made ice/water swamp cooler set-up in his sleeper. He claimed it let him sleep like a baby all night just from the ice he would get free from the restaurants he visited. IIRC it was simply a very well insulated wooden box with an old heater core and a small 12V circulating water pump. A heater fan blew the across the heater core while being cooled by the ice water...

 

It is a Onan 7500 watt Quiet Diesel. HDKAT Spec: K, but there are newer ones than that out now
I think they would run at least $6500, but I would expect to pay at least $8000 up to $10,000 total including instalation depending on your application. Not cheap, but I use mine ALOT and I can't have some generator that I can't depend on. It's my home away from home so I don't want to be dealing with no power or a noisy lawnmower running under my bunk. Like I said before, I haul military many times and the Marines and the Army use these on their radar units and for power to use their computers in the field. Mine has held up from 20 below zero to 120 degrees in the shade of Phoenix, AZ without a hitch. I talked with the tech who did the last yearly service on my unit and he said that the only faulty thing about this generator is that the stator is very liquid sensitive and should be kept dry at all costs. Of course it is easy to seal the stator, but the folks at Onan installed the overflow for the antifreeze directly above the stator, so you must make sure that your overflow hose is connected correctly and that you never overfill your antifreeze. That has never been a problem for me as the antifreeze tank is translucent and very easy to read. I have not tried every generator out there, but so far I am pleased with this one. As soon as it fails I will surely be yelling about it in here though.
