What's up with some not accepting OOIDA insurance?

Are there any other things to avoid..... Does the rating (of the underwriter I guess) have to be of a certain grade to be accepted by all brokers/shippers?

They want to give me an insurance for $900 a month (1milion, 100k cargo) and they say its much more expensive this days. Is that true?
Ive got one speeding ticket and all other is in good standing.

I just got a quote from a local insurance joint $7200.00 a year. Check your local agencies you might save a ton rather then trying these big mega insurance companies.

Be better to list both. Example: Mr. Joe Trucker, dba Trucking , Inc. In a bad accident lawyers will attempt to pierce the corporate veil, and come after your personal assets. Do not believe if you are incorporated that completely protects you, if you have only one truck. You , as driver , will be sued also.

I have changed my insurance to Carolina Casualty since Progessive dropped my company becasuse I complaint to them for increase in my insurance ( there was a road hazard incident strange to be exact. About a year and a half ago at Petro in Hammond La. an unmarked truck followed me to any where I parked. Then after couple of hours I took of to TX. I took east on I-12/I-10 instead of west a gray colored SUV was following me. I made a U-turn the suv did the same and rode real close to my truck behind. Till the piece of tire came of (the tire did not blow out but belt piece came off a nicely dressed lady and an under dressed guy took the already ready camera out and took pics and recorded some. Then Progressive jacked up my insurance approx $3000 in addition to a no real reason for a high cost for a dry van for an experienced driver who drives over the road about 40k-60k for the year. Anyway the whole incident appeared to be an undercover con-artists act of terrorism. Progressive issued a check for $488 in TN to some one and increased my insurance by approx $3000 per year bringing it to be close to $8000. for dry van and 50k miles part time driver. Now that is called monopolization (or terrorization) of the market

Carolina casualty sucks as well. They are charging me a ridiculous price approx $8000 /year over the road 40k mile yearly with good records and Dry van. No refer BS break down involved. It might be justifiable if I was running 48 states and 120k/year and God forbid I was a bad driver. But the irony of it is that even paying such a high premium I can't any service out of them. Takes the hours to wright my provided two lines of address for the new broker and click ok to send them a cert of ins. Now that is total BS. I think it is all because of trrrrraaash behind the seen conspiring and harassing simple hardworking people. One more time I wish that curse of GOD may be upon them who support or are involved in any kind of terrorism up front or behind the seen Amen.

Yeah, your loss runs will make your insurance increase. And those are available to an company thinking about insuring you. Sucks, but you get penalized for even the most minor events.

I am not affiliated with the following company in ANY way - but I got insurance from them when I got my authority in 2010. Good rates and great online access (proof of insurance and adding a broker on to a policy is a breeze, no phone call necessary). http://www.bentonandparker.com/
