Hello, so I am very interested to start trying to be a truck driver for a career, my question is I have 2 careless driving tickets from over 11 years ago and one possession charge of marijuana from 6 years ago, I have other tickets like no proof of insurance or seatbelt ticket expired tag etc. Etc. My most recent was the possession which was in 2012. Since then I have a clean record with no tickets or anything since then cause I have matured. Is it still possible to be hired or should I just put it to bed due to my teen young 20 choices? Thank you in advance.

You're good to go. Which part of Florida do you live in?
The state of Florida might pay for private or community college cdl school or you may qualify for trucking company in-house cdl school.
Edit: All trucking companies are required by law to give drug tests. Some give hair follicle drug test and some give urine drug test.
To pass hair follicle drug test, you must be clean for past 12 months.
To pass urine drug test, you must be clean for past 90 days.
If you prefer one over the other, let us know so we know which companies to recommend to you.

I edited my other post; let us know about that.
Your past won't be a problem. Plenty of companies will hire you.

You should be ok in another 30 days.
Prime Inc. hires in Florida and does urine test. School is in Missouri.
Stevens Transport hires in Florida and does urine test. School is in Tampa.
Both companies provide meals & lodging during cdl school.
Your best chance will be with Stevens Transport.
If you attend a private school, your best chance at graduation is with Florida Beauty Express in Miami or Vero Logistics in Margate.

For Prime Inc. Do they send you to training and pay for it in exchange for working for them a year 2 years etc. And would they get me up There? I could drive up there my self, would just need a tune up and stuff. I'm sorry for all the questions, I really appreciate you taking the time to help me out.

Prime will bus you to Springfield, MO and your contract will probably be for 12 months. Same with Stevens Transport.
    @Drewk
I recommend to leave your car at home.
If you attend Stevens Transport in Tampa; when you graduate they will provide transportation to Dallas, Texas for orientation and to meet your trainer.

    lilnae and Drewk Thank this.
