Hello everyone, yesterday I worked over my 14 hours and was wondering if im in violation. I started my shift at 6 a.m and logged out at 9 p.m. I logged out from driving at 8:30 p.m and remained on duty(not driving) from 8:30 to 9:00 p.m. today im expected to be at work at6 a.m but I wont start til 6:30 just because I we over by 30 min. Am I legal ? And yes I did take my 30 min break.

Yes. You are violation of your drive time. You should have stopped driving after 11 hours of driving or by 8pm, whichever comes first. But....if you have returned to your home terminal the last 5 days in a row you can use your 16 hour day and you would not be in violation.

Also you can't start your day till 7am, since you were on duty till 9.

Thanks for your reply 77fib77, I am under paper log and my start time would of been 6:30 because I did go off duty for 30 min.

After looking at my log, I went off driving at 7:45pm and went to on duty(not driving) from 7:45 to 8:30. i only drove for 3.5 hours but stayed on duty for 10.50(not driving). I work for a lumber company and I deliver roof trusses so I'm always home every night and off weekends.

If I could figure out how to post a picture I'll show my log for yesterday

Technically it shouldn't matter, legal is legal. Basically you are asking him if he's able to log illegal or not ;)

Naa I don't want to even learn how to log illegal. I got me a great driving record and really don't want to go down that road.

your 14 hour day which you said started at 0600 is cut in stone ...basically...the only thing that can extend it is a continuous 8 hours break on line 2 ... but then you wouldn't get any work done legally ...
yes you went over your 14 by 30 minutes ...

    point to remember ...
you can work on line 4 as many hours as you want ... dot doesn't care .... just can't drive

    Tonythetruckerdude Thanks this.

Then, you need ten off and it all still counts toward your seventy?
