Depends on broker I'm using. Some have 24hr offices, some don't. If they don't, I'll pay myself and get reimbursed. If they are open I make them pay, especially if I've unloaded myself.

i would use comcheck when i was pulling reefer, glad i dont deal with them crooks anymore.
aiwiron Thanks this. -
I guess my main question is, do you carry cash with you to cover these type of fees or do you always have to call either a broker or company you lease with to help you with fees?
-
had to call, some of them lumpers were rather costly never paid cash.
-
I also negotiated lumper fees to be paid by broker in rate confirmation.

I carry very little cash, when booking a load if it does not say live load and unload with no touch I no touch the load to haul it.
critters Thanks this. -

i never would pay a lumper fee that the broker said the word reimbursement. RED FLAG to me
Fiddle Sticks and aiwiron Thank this. -
My carrier reimburses the lumper fees - it appears as income for me, and with the exception of one or two places we always do comchecks. Company drivers should always be reimbursed by their carrier for any lumper fees.
