Hey everyone im fresh out of school and Werner called me today giving me a prehire for a Doller General account. The recuiter said id make between 750-850 a week. said that was what the drivers are averaging for the account.. is this true? Does that sound like a normal figure for dedicated? I kinda like the idea of dedicated for starting out. Just till I get broke in. so it sounds like a really good deal.... Please just current Werner drivers please. Or drivers that recently left! thanks for taking the time to look. Any advice to help me with my decision would be great. Im also considering there OTR...

I wouldn't recommend the dollar general or any other accounts to a recent graduate unless you are really confident about your backing stills, try regional for a few months once you are confident and have practice your backing then do it werner trainers are not known for their teaching skills... I did dollar general for 2 weeks I gave up then did regional for a few months now I'm sears dedicated

backing is actually my specialty! Or at least what im best at lol. Im not worried about backing. Im just curious about the dedicated pay and how you like it. How is the pay difference with your dedicated and what you did going regional? does 750-850 a week sound accurate? I just wanna make sure im not being lied to is all. I have a hard time beleiving recruiters. I appreciate your response.

750-850 sounds fair before taxes, the recruiters were right if mentioned the words " back breaking, exausting" I really don't know where you live but the pay has to do a lot with location

You're grossing ~1,000 and geting ~700 after taxes right?

A normal company driver is earning ~600 gross which is like 400 after taxes .

I wouldn't unload for a extra $400 a month ,most companys I see that arnt bottom feeders pay at least $1,200/week for dedicated driver unload accounts ,and thats $1,200 MINIMUM

hey trashtruckin, if ur doing DG then there probably gonna base u out of indianola, miss. or Oklahoma. i did that account during my student training. backing up on DG isnt bad since they use rolltainers. u just have to get close to the door and leave room for the liftgate. FD account is where ur backing up skills are put to the test. and if u bump the building or anything ur off the account.

as far as pay that about right 700-850 base on miles and stops u do. but yea it alot of work especially if u have ur trailer on an incline...
