Does Swift do a background check on the rider also? If a spouse has a felony does that disqualify them from being a rider?

Not that I'm aware of. Fill out a form with the basics and they give you an "authorization" letter for the rider.

Fill out several forms actually, and carry proper state issued ID. Driver also has $30.00 deducted from his/her check each month to cover insurance. If under 18 rider must be drivers natural, or legally adopted child. If female, rider must not be pregnant. Riders cannot assist driver in their duties. nowhere in the policy or in those forms does it ask anything about criminal background.
The whole rider policy takes up three pages of the Swift driver manual, and is too lengthy and boring to copy here. (plus I'm a bit of a lazy twit). but those are the high points.Last edited: Apr 22, 2011
