O.K.--Got a question for all you trucking guru's out there.
Found out I have a warrent in Fla. from 1998/vop /dui. thinking about turning self in to clear up, does this go against my 10 year violations free record
tried working it out, but Fla says won't drop unless turn self in.
dui

warrent for a traffic violation?
or more....... -
Not enough info to give a responce
-
probably not a good thing to have an outstanding warrant when looking for work, if a company finds it you're done. now if you do turn yourself in it may be viewed by some as a 2012 dui instead of a 1998 which is also not good, but I would highly recommend getting the situation cleared up. think big picture

yea really whats the warrant for...if traffic make contact on phone and make arrangements for payment if its something you did...my father had the same thing happen for a ticket he had paid in WV back in the early 90s. in 2004 they issued a warrant for it being unpaid. they had just switched over their system to share DL info and tickets....he paid it to get it resovled than 6 months later got a refund on it since they found it had been paid before.....

Thanks GMC,

id be calling lawyers immediately. ask a professional in the legal profession for advice, not some (perhaps) professionals in the trucking industry (i say perhaps because you dont really even know who is answering you in here, thus you should take my and every other poster's advice with a grain of salt). i think the end result will be your record will now show a conviction in 2013, ESPECIALLY if you just "turn yourself in" without the benefit of legal counsel...perhaps even a dui conviction in 2013. a lawyer may be able to negotiate a better outcome. you NEED the help of a lawyer...no question. and since youve called the state of florida, you may be running against a clock before they find you. maybe thats just my general paranoia, but id think that it could have somewhat reactivated their active interest in looking for you. id say start calling some close friends and family to find out who the best lawyer would be to help you in this situation, and then call that lawyer TODAY.

You got that right!!!
