Ok, i would like to know if a future employer can dig up things on your DAC report.
Basically what happened was I was terminated from the carrier I worked for for failing a random drug test back in 2007. I took the test while on home time and received the results OTR. I was terminated on the spot and took a greyhound home from there. Heres the catch though, I have reviewed my DAC report numerous times and all it says is, I was terminated for company policy violation... Nothing about he nature of my termination can be found when reviewed. Also there is nothing about it on my MVR either.
Can a future employer some how still find out even though its not on my DAC...? I recently went back to school to get my CDL again and want to get back into the drivers seat. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

They can call the company and ask why you were terminated.
Have you 'cleaned up' since then? -
there is NO clearing house on drug test results,
YET !! -
Of coarse I have. I wouldn't be trying to get back into this industry if I didn't clean myself up. I thought certain things were confidential like reasons for termination.?

SinSityCowboy Thanks this.

if it is a DAC company that info is available to anyone who subscribes to DAC. it does not go away, you need to do the SAP program and if you did not afer you tested positive then you will never be able to find a job in the trucking industry again. and Puppage that works for non DOT jobs but in the DOT world that is not the case. It always has to be reported, ALWAYS!!!!!!!

Most former employers will state cause for termination if you sign a release that holds them harmless. Some companies require you sign such documents in order to have a chance at being hired. Otherwise, most simply state your position, the term in which you worked for them, and how much you were paid.
To give further information opens them up to libel and defamation lawsuits.Last edited: Jul 30, 2013

ok, what Im saying is it wasnt reported to the dac system upon my termination. I have a copy right in front of my and all it says is that I was terminated for company policy violation. Then when I flip the page to all the accident, dui and drug related things, its blank. Absolutely nothing.

any trucking company has to check back at least 3 years some more to get all drug/alcohol and accident from previous DOT jobs you worked, This is required by the DOT in order for them to hire you to do a DOT job or required to follow the guidelines of FMCSG or the in other words the little green book all drivers carry in the truck with them.
