Well Dan, I sure hope you are proud of yourself. Your righteous indignation does nothing but set back relations between the public and law enforcement. I am retired LE, and I've seen a lot of young bucks like you. Seems the badge ways 25 pounds or more, until you get some experience.

Do yourself a favor. In fact do everyone in law enforcement a favor, and grow up a bit, before shooting your mouth off.

Big Don, if you and some of the powers that be around here want to circle the wagons around the convicted felons - if you think that's an issue that is worth fighting over - you go right ahead. I'll side with the motoring public that would prefer that criminals with multiple felony convictions not share the same highways with us. But if you want to continue to lower the standards of the trucking industry - if you want to live and work in a world of felons, piss bottles, sacks of crap, bathrooms that people can't let their kids go into because of all the truck driver art and poetry on the walls, rest areas that people can't go into because some truck drivers stop to get their weenie washed by another man - if that's more important to you than cleaning up the industry - I hope you're in the minority. In fact, I'm pretty sure you are.

Coming on a trucking board, built by a trucker for truckers and throwing Law and Order attitude around isn't going to get you any brownie points here. We have some very helpful DOT officers here already that do not insult or throw attitude around. They are here to help, not stir the pot.

You seem to have that above the law attitude and that isn't going to work in your favor. Remember who this board is for, and why its here. You don't get to use it as your personal playground for amusement. Its here to help TRUCKERS, and the members here are here because they are seeking help and or wanting to help the new generations. Doesn't matter if they have a felony or not. There are all kinds of reformed felons out there in this world. So your argument here is moot.

And in case you missed it in Big Dons post, he used to be Law Enforcement himself. Not all officers carry a chip on their shoulder.

If your here to help, fine stick around, but if your here to cause problems and insult our members, then go find another board to play on, this is not the one for you.

I took the time to go back over every post that Dan the supposed DOT man has posted. Sure looks to me like the only thing this individual wants to do is come on here and stir the schidt.

I'm not saying this guy isn't a cop. But with his attitude, I will flatly say that he SHOULDN'T be. I am also betting that no matter what he has posted, if in fact he IS a cop, he hasn't been one for very long. And that IF he is he won't CONTINUE to be for very long.

Dan e boy, I'm not just an "excop," I am an honorably retired cop. That means I put in a full career in law enforcement. I was #### good at my job, actually was able to make a small difference in the areas that I worked in. (No one can make a BIG difference in our so-called "justice" system.)

I've kicked arse and had mine kicked on more occasions than I care to remember. But one thing I can tell you. When you start to feel that you are so superior to others, the one in trouble there is YOU.

Now, why don't you just run along and play in traffic.:biggrin_25513:

I heard the Police have two types they hire from the Psych test: Nice guys and jerks, about equally. I have seen great cops and lousy, greedy, filthy cops who will steal from ANYONE they stop...what can you do about THAT? Not much you can do when a cop steals your private property from your car. They have the Glock and have the authority to use it. Maybe Dan the DOT Man can clean up his own industry? Just a thought.

I never spent 1 day in prison for the three felonies I have although looking back to when I was 18 I wish I had, maybe I would have learned my lesson back then instead of learning it today...

I'm a big law and order person too as shole or I would NOT have finished ANY degrees in college or go through trucking school for a better career. I can understand a deneying a sex offender a job in a day care but every felony or person who has one is a different case.

The trucking industry is NOT a dumping ground for anything. It involves a level of trust and safety. If you can prove you have rebuilt trust by not commiting crimes OR bad driving history ( dui's , wrecks etc ) than you can possibly have a chance.

Like all jobs, if you mess up once you may be limited to WHAT you can do from hauling certain types of loads to never being able to step one foot in a truck. However I commend every one out there who has stoped commiting crimes and has decided to attempt an honest way of living.
