It will show up on your weekly pay. If your rate is 40 CPM your pay stub will show 26 CPM pay and 14 CPM per diem. On your W2 it will also be separated as income and other income.
That how it was on examples I have seen anyway. I don't drive yet so don't have first hand experience.

So yeah, the per diem is forced.
I still don't quite understand the benefits to me as a driver. I tried reading replies from some of the more tax educated.
From what I understood, it makes it easier to claim expenses while out on the road instead of having receipts for every, single, day.Last edited: Jan 27, 2016

Well the more you stay out and keep the left door shut the more you will bring home. However depending on the home situation it may or may not be for you. I have done just over a year now and my wife has a heart condition and we lost her father about 6 months ago and I have a teenager and a smaller one. I did my year and it just isn't for me I don't believe. But I do think that one full year is needed to make the correct decisions based on everything.

Low Miles for this company through slow times 2500 a week (10k a month)
