I did not know that they did. I do know that they were going to boot 225 drivers if they did not get their fuel mileage up. Some were getting about 4 mpg. They were working with them on how to improve it. I called in the other day and it gave the % for fuel bonuses which was a lot that they gave out so most of the fleet is getting it. We have some 08's, but not many.

Geez guess I should go get my eyes checked, must be going blind! -
No big deal , I should have called it their specialized div , but to me their Tanker / Bulk side sort of falls into that section as well.

Question: This is with regard to Flatbeds in general... is there a trick to tarping, ie., getting the tarp onto the truck, and onto the load? I know these tarps weigh anywhere from 80 to 150lbs dry. I weigh 155-160, am 5'10" and am 57yo, and am in good shape (lift weights, ect), BUT... lifting a 80 to 150lb tarp just up on to the flatbed seems to me to be something that would require a physicall bigger and stronger person than myself, unless there is a trck to lifting and leveraging the tarps.
I would like to apply with Maverick but don't want to waste my time if I physically can not do the work. I don't mind the work, but want to know it is doable for someone my size. I would appreciate an honest assessment of physical needs for this position as well as if indeed there are tricks to doing all this that one could learn. I am aware that Maverick tests you physically in this regard your 1st 4 days there, so... would like to make sure. Thanks for any and all driver input.
