Ive been wanting to ask these questions for a few weeks but i didnt know how to say it so here goes.

Ok so last year I recieved 2 speeding tickets in my car one in Tennessee for doing 61 in a 55 and 1 in alabama for doing 81 in a 70 and 1 in my truck for 40 in a 35 in Kansas. Well I didnt show up on any of the court dates and I paid them all exept the one in Kansas. Then I was called a terminal of the company I worked for and i was filling out some paper work and one of the the papers asked me to report all tickets I had. I listed all the tickets and later I was fired for having the 3 tickets in one year. So I was just going to put driving on hold until the tickets rolled off but I wanted to pay off the Kansas ticket so I got a copy of my mvr a few days ago and it only has the Tennessee ticket on there and I ordered a 5 year driving record. I lost the ticket awhile back and I just know I got the ticket on some country road. I was going to try to apply to some companys but then the school and I went to said the tickets probably are on my DAC report so I ordered that and it doesnt tell me anything about tickets it just has the company I worked for and that I was terminated and there wasnt a reason listed. Then someone else I asked said that I need to call my dmv and tell them I got the tickets and to put it on my mvr which I dont want to do so what I want to know is is there anywhere else I can look to see what tickets I have? And I know this is a goofy question but if I apply to another company should I tell them about the tickets even though there not on my mvr? I dont want it to be something that will come back to bite me if I dont tell them but I dont know what to do. So im asking for some help or suggestions from yall on here. Thanks for reading and sorry about the long story.:biggrin_25526::biggrin_25514:

If you paid the fines they might not get reported to your home states DMV therefore they won't show on your MVR. You should probably call Kansas and find out if you have an outstanding ticket there. Explain that you lost it and they may not send the Black helicopters after you.
And as far as listing them.....why if they aren't showing on your 5 year mvr then they don't exist in my opinion. And really the termination is gonna hurt your chances with companies that use DAC, and mybe you should learn how to use the cruise control cause it sure does sound like you gots one heavy foot there lady trucker

You are required by law (as a CDL holder) to report out-of-state tickets to your driver's-license state.

That said, if you live in Pennsylvania, they don't seem to care. I called the PA DoT about a small ticket I got in Missouri and the guy practically laughed me off the phone. "They'll let us know if it's important."

And unless it's a major violation (like >15 mph over the limit), PA won't give you points for an out-of-state beef.

All of that said, you might consider calling the PA DoT just for the sake of due diligence. I doubt they're going to take a 5-mph ticket very seriously.

I had a heavy foot. 2 tickets in 3 years is supposed to be a 30 day suspension of your CDL!

I would track down the one you didn't pay and get it paid. If you don't, you risk getting shut down when they report your suspension for non payment to your home state.

If it's been more that 6 months since you've paid your last ticket it may never get on your MVR. You are supposed to report them but no one does.

There is supposed to be a new federal data base that all these tickets get stored on. All the states are supposed to use it, but they don't.

According to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Commercial Driver's Manual:

    "You will lose your CDL:
    • For at least 60 days if you have committed two serious traffic violations within a 3-year period involving a CMV.
    • For at least 120 days for three (3) serious traffic violations within a 3-year period.
'Serious traffic violations' include but are not limited to traffic offenses committed in a CMV in connection with fatal traffic accidents, excessive speeding, reckless driving, or eluding the police."
    (Emphasis mine.)

So the penalties (at least in PA) are a little worse than you say, but the offenses required to incur those penalties are a little more serious than just "2 tickets in 3 years." I don't know whether the law is different in Connecticut, and I don't mean to patronize HardlyWorking; I just thought a little clarification might help.

Suffice to say that my reading of the above rule, combined with my own albeit scant experience in dealing with PA DoT, leads me to believe that you could get a million tickets for 5-mph over the limit (particularly if they're out-of-state tickets) and PA wouldn't give two craps.

You'd lose your job long before then, of course; I'm just trying to make a point. :)

    Sound advice.

I know I know I have a little bit of a lead foot but its a lesson very well learned. But you were right on about the termination. Most of the companies I applied for said that they dont hire drivers that have been terminated from a previous trucking job.

I did try calling a few cities in Kansas and they dont have any clue as to where I recieved the ticket,

I would do my best to clear them up. Whatever you do, do not lie on any job application. That will be a career ender for sure. Your tickets are speeding but not consider reckless since they are within 15mph of the posted speed limit. But in todays market you're going to be at the bottom of the list and I hope you've learned that your record is precious and should be spotless.

So that's another lesson learned, keep all tickets, medical forms, and general paperwork you get as a driver in a folder so you can find it when it's needed. I keep a copy of even every application I've filled out (about 12 in 13 years) so I know who I've applied to, and to make sure each application has the same driver supplied info. When you have an issue, it's all in one place and makes life a little easier when you're looking to fill holes in your memory.

With my current job, I listed I had 3 in one yr. When the pulled my MVR, my first one did not show.. Sometimes I have learned if you pay the fine, they city, town or who ever won't put it on your MVr. This was in a small town here in Texas, while the other two were in my car here in my home city. Now those two which were 2,3rd did show up...

Ok... According to the New Rules a trucking company can find out how many tickets you have had in your life time.. By using a new form that they fill out to the state that you've ever held a license in.... They are not using DAC or MVR... These tickets will not show up on DAC Or MVR... The show up on a PPE from the pull form the state.. Their was one driver that had 60 tickets in a life time... The Rule is if he receives one ticket while employed with that company the company will receive points against their company for those 60 old tickets.. A Company is only allowed 100 points before they are audited... And that goes against the company profile and they can loose their company due to the points added on them by DOT Regulations.... According to the new rules a company can see every ticket you have ever had even though it is not on your dac... or mvr... Once you sign the doted line with your cdl number the rules allow them to see everything on you... Even though the state dose not report this to you or an insurance company... or anyone else requesting this information... Only a company is allowed to see every ticket you ever had on your cdl... And they receive points against their company and they choose to fire you because, They are not going to loose their business because of you...And they aren't going allow your points to run their point up.. They will fire you before that happens ....
