I just obtained my "Class A" from a CDL School about 3 weeks back.. I have no experience thus far. I applied a few places & pepsi was 1 of the places that called me back! I had a phone interview & scheduled my "face to face" interview for next week. From what i'm hearing Pepsi isn't the greatest place to work at but however, its a union job, i'm only 23 years old & i have some energy in the tank.

    My questions are:

    1. Will they hire fresh students with no experience?
    2. Will they hire someone with a misdemeanor charge from 5 years ago?

Thanks in advanced for any input!

Former Del Sup from Pepsi. Answers to both your questions is yes.

Your "interview" will consist of a work exercise and back and forth with standard HR driven questions. Can you PM me the location you are interviewing at?

At my location right now, they will hire you with just a permit and train you to get your class A with a 1 year sign on contract.

They basically hire anyone with a pulse especially since summer madness is approaching.

I have a few drivers at my location with felonies. None of them can get on any of the military bases. Not a problem.

It is back breaking work and you will be lucky to clear ~60k per year.

So I think you a pretty much good to go.

Depending on the pay scale and the union contract, 60k may be on the top end of things. My old location in the Northeast was union as well, and 1/8th of the driver pool made over 60-65 after overtime and all the paid holidays.

It is tough work, and you'll be waiting a while to get into bulk, but the company is sound otherwise.
