Well you know, that's the bottom line. No company or o/o is going to absorb any price increase, period. When the fuel prices spiked several years ago, don't you think I /we as a drivers mind you get's hit twice.

Once at the fuel pumps, then at the grocery stores.

Now ok, I do not own, or lease, so I actually got hit with the higher store prices, but YOU as an o/o sure did get hit twice.

The dumbarse plotiticians NEVER even consider the "domino effect", now do they??

Or even do the math on how much building toll plazas coat, and the cumulative effect of traffic buildup at those plazas, nor the impact on local roads around it which will see heavier traffic flow.

Someone please remind me, but didn't the state of CT remove the toll plazas because a big rig slammed into one, killing some people?

Or was it because the tolls were illegal since the highway was built with Federal monies, and by law no state can toll a federally built highway..???

That is what I thought was the mitigating factor in taking down the CT tolls.

    thank you

Ok, thanks, and I did a follow up to that crash, (with your help of reminding me), here it is:

    Accidents
Several accidents prompted the state to eliminate tolls along the turnpike altogether. Arguably, the most notorious of these was a serious incident on January 19, 1983, in which a tractor trailer after a brake failure collided with four cars at the Stratford toll plaza, killing seven people and injuring several others. The investigation following the crash determined that the truck driver fell asleep at the wheel just before the crash took place.

what I am not understanding is both the brake failure AND the driver falling asleep at the wheel.

    shouldn't it be either or..????

Do yourselves a favor. Get a 2.5 gallon Thetford brand portal potty. Wal.mart, Sears, cabellas, etc.
Don't buy a round bucket with a seat on it. The thetfords are tip proof, the waste is sealed in the lower half. Fresh water is stored in the top half and flushed with a small bellows.
When properly maintained with the chemical additive, there is NOT any odor. To mt the unit separates and a handle allows the bottom to dumped.. Lots of places to do that if you look around. RV dumps, rest area bathrooms, and numerous plastic #### houses found at customers.
Never be uncomfortable for hrs waiting for that next place to go. Drivers can step behind the curtain while stuck in a construction zone. We found storage for the unit was easy on most trucks. You might have to remove a cabinet door but the the units slide out easily.
To those that say ########,,,they are the ones with piss bottles rolling around in the cab and dump theming the middle of the night or in trash cans where some else has clean up.
I won't even enticing the advantages of staying in the cab Ina blizzard...worked great for this retired team.roll on..
