So I got the offer letter to go to Roehl orientation but I am wondering something and am reaching out to see if anyone can answer it. They said I will come in for the advanced training program. What does this mean? All she said was I would go for 4 days and then get paid 450$....and my pay would start at .34 cpm. Also is there orientation in Atlanta GA? Thanks in advance for any help!

Just means you go in for physical/drug test some classes driving test do paperwork pass it all get a truck on your own and you get the $450 after delivery of first load. At least that's what they did with me in September. I had to go to marshfield though. I don't know if they do it in other terminals.Indra Thanks this.

Oh they will have you do homework. They do the plan a trip figure miles when and where you will stop etc... It's not bad. The classes are boring they lump you in with the phase trainees for The Roehl Way and some other stuff. Show some videos. Any more questions just ask. I'm trying to think what else. Hardest thing for me was Qualcomm/elog as I had never used them before.
Indra Thanks this. -
Hey Indra, Roehl was my first choice when I got my CDL. Because I was living in Atlanta, GA, my oritentation was in Ellenwood, GA. This was in 2007... My memory is bad and can't remember how much they paid me... I did not stay with them. Just want to give you a heads up about a homossexual "female" trainer (sometimes she drives flatbeds). I am not the only female trainee who had an awful, terrible experience with her. If you have patience to search this forum, you will read about it. She was mean, unfriendly, verbally abusive, unhelpful, criticizing everything, stressed me out... seemed to be angry all the time... I thought she didn't like female trainees and wanted to give them hell and cause them to fail... If you go with Roehl, watch out for this person. Good luck.

Thanks for the heads up...I would love to have her as a trainer cause I would put her in her place. She would be on here fussing about some chic named Indra who didn't take her crap lmao! Actually I don't believe I have to go out with a trainer. Not really sure what I will be doing
I hope it's jump through some hoops and get a truck and go! But we will see. I went to Werner but left there after orientation those idiots don't know their butt from a hole in the ground. I don't really pay much attention to others downing companies but I saw what Werner was about from the start. Not saying they are bad just bad for me
Rocks and DrtyDiesel Thank this. -
you would go to Ellenwood Ga, its just below atl on I 675 x 5, everyone there is nice, i run 14/7 out of there so im in and out alot. i would imagine that if that trainer is that bad then she is no longer a trainer, because roehl calls you and ask you how your trainer was and all that.

Thanks for the info Biglee
I was gonna do 7/7 but after reading stuff about slip seating I am not so sure, Would I slip seat with a driver in my home area or go back to the terminal for the transfer? Might change mine to National just so I can avoid the hassle it seems to be with sharing a truck lol Thanks again I go to orientation Jan 14

I've enjoyed my time at Roehl. When I decide to go back otr then I may come back. Not as a company driver though, it'll be with my own truck

you would have to park at a terminal or drop yard for hometime, slip seatng isnt bad at all, ive been doing it for over 10 months now. we have something in darlington sc but roehl doesnt own it, we just use the back end of another companies lot, but you could ask the recruiter about it. how far are you from atl, it would be up to you, but they may have you run from ellenwood

I am about 4 hrs from Atlanta. I am about 15 minutes from Darlington that's my hometown
